Iggety ziggety zaggety zoom! Get ready for a spellbinding adventure as the Olivier Award-nominated production of Room on the Broom soars into The Lowry, Salford, this Easter. From Tuesday 15th to Sunday 20th April, families can hop on board the broom for a musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved picture book, brought to life by the acclaimed theatre company, Tall Stories.


A Magical Theatrical Journey

Join the kind-hearted witch and her loyal cat as they embark on a whirlwind journey, picking up some unexpected passengers along the way—a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird, and a frantic frog. But when the broomstick reaches its limit and snaps in two, danger looms as a hungry dragon appears! Will there be room on the broom for everyone?


Packed with enchanting puppetry, sing-along songs, and laugh-out-loud moments, Room on the Broom is the perfect Easter treat for families and an ideal introduction to theatre for young children.


A Show That’s Travelled the World

Tall Stories has delighted audiences across the globe with its fun-filled, magical productions. The company is renowned for its stage adaptations of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s best-selling books, including The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale, The Gruffalo’s Child, and The Smeds and The Smoos. Since its debut in 2008, Room on the Broom has toured extensively across the UK, Ireland, and beyond, with performances in Australia (including the Sydney Opera House), Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Poland, and Germany.


Toby Mitchell, Tall Stories’ artistic director and co-founder, shares his excitement: “We first brought ‘Room on the Broom’ to the stage in 2008, and since then, it has delighted audiences across the world. We can’t wait to bring some magical spells, catchy songs, and plenty of laughter to family audiences at The Lowry this Easter.”


Meet the Creative Team

Directed by Olivia Jacobs and featuring designs by Morgan Large, puppetry by Yvonne Stone, lighting by James Whiteside, choreography by Morag Cross, and music by Jon Fiber and Andy Shaw, this production promises a visual and musical treat for all ages.
