NEWS - ALEXANDRA BURKE TO STAR AS MORTICIA ADDAMS IN THE ADDAMS FAMILY UK TOUR AT THE LOWRY

The creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky Addams Family is set to return to the UK stage, and fans of musical theatre are in for a treat! Alexandra Burke, best known for winning The X Factor and starring in hit productions such as Sister Act and The Bodyguard, will take on the iconic role of Morticia Addams in The Addams Family: The Musical Comedy. This highly anticipated UK tour will stop at The Lowry in Salford from 12 – 16 August 2025.

A Star-Studded Cast

Joining Alexandra Burke is an incredible cast of stage veterans and rising stars. Ricardo Afonso (Jesus Christ Superstar, Thriller Live, We Will Rock You) will play the charismatic Gomez Addams, while the legendary Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather, Young Frankenstein, Sister Act) will bring her comedic flair to the role of Grandma. Clive Rowe (The Prince of Egypt, Sister Act, A Christmas Carol) is set to delight audiences as the lovable Uncle Fester.

The talented ensemble also includes Lauren Jones (Scissorhandz) as Wednesday Addams, Nicholas McLean (Wicked) as Pugsley Addams, Dickon Gough (returning from the original UK cast) as Lurch, Dale Rapley (The Bridges of Madison County) as Mal, Jacob Fowler (Heathers the Musical) as Lucas, and Kara Lane (Rebecca) as Alice. A Spooky and Spectacular Story

Based on the beloved characters created by Charles Addams, this musical comedy follows Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. The catch? Only her father, Gomez, knows about it. As he struggles to keep her secret from Morticia, chaos ensues when the two families meet for a fateful dinner. Packed with hilarious moments, heart-warming themes of love and family, and a spine-tingling good score, this production is sure to be a hit.

The Creative Team

The musical features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the award-winning duo behind Jersey Boys, with music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated Andrew Lippa.
