Get ready for a wildly fun festive season, because The Lowry has announced its Christmas family show, and it’s going to be snaptastic! Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile The Musical is chomping its way onto the Lyric stage from 9 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, promising jungle-sized fun for all ages.
This larger-than-life musical brings Dahl’s wickedly funny tale to the stage, as the Enormous Crocodile slinks through the jungle with a rumbling tummy and a cunning plan—he’s got his eyes set on a “nice juicy little child” for lunch! But the other jungle animals aren’t about to let him get away with it. Can they outwit the greedy reptile before it’s too late? With catchy tunes, hilarious antics, and spectacular puppetry, this show is set to be a must-see Christmas treat!
The production boasts an incredible creative team, with music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, a rib-tickling book and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady. Developed and directed by Emily Lim, the show also features puppetry magic from co-director and puppetry designer Toby Olié, with stunning set and costume design by Fly Davis. Expect jaw-dropping visuals and a menagerie of amazing puppets bringing the jungle to life!
Tickets for The Enormous Crocodile The Musical go on sale to the general public on Friday 7 March 2025 at 10am, with priority booking for Lowry Members from Thursday 6 March.
Don’t miss out—snap up your tickets before they disappear faster than a crocodile’s lunch!
